The above link will take you to the current auction for Macie if you are unfamilliar with Macies story here it is:
Following an urgent call with the RGT Kate and Ann went up North on a 250 mile round trip and rescued from a 'pet' owners house a Greyhound Bitch. Bless her heart, she is called Macie (racing name Keepers Gem). She's a big boned bitch with a racing weight of I should think around the 30kg mark ( and her pet weight should be more than that!) but we found her flea ridden, with cuts and sores and in an emaciated state at just 22kg! She was scared witless. There was no water or bed for Macie in the house where we got her from. No evidence of food and, worse still, it looked like she had been abandoned to the back garden and, when she was allowed in, was kept under the stairs and there was blood on the floor and up the stair wall too. She was terrified! Macie was so scared she even flattened herself against the stair wall from her 'owner' and only with forcing her against the wall was it possible to fit a collar and lead. The collar, even on the smallest hole, was way too big. We took her to the van and had to lift her up and into it and she shook and the white of her eyes gazed at us. But, we calmed her and settled her down and we left the wretch of a 'home' to make our way back to Kama's Cave and the start of her new life. Here are the pictures to tell the tale .... My Auction of items to raise funds to help Macie recover her health will be posted tomorrow .... if you possibly can help with our fundraising I and Macie will be really chuffed. It will help with her flea/worm treatments, orijin and goats milk and supplements to get her back on top form.
Please please please take a look at the lovely items being auctioned off for Macies ongoing care - bidding ends on Tuesday 18 September.
