David and I are also delighted for the three of you. Enjoy being together, it will be so wonderful for each of you.

WOW! Sally is now on the 'rehomed hounds' page! Sally is here! Ann and Kate kindly brought her round this morning. We were all excited and noisy and Sally probably didn't know what was happening! She has settled back in fantastic and is currently curled up in her favourite corner of the living room on her new bed. Sally sends love to Flash and Gemma and wishes to thank them for thinking of her. Will be in touch... ;D From Lorraine AND SALLY!!!!!

In my capacity as honourary chauffer for Ann who remains disabled with the shoulder business, I have had the pleasure of seeing two hounds rehomed now. Bridie two weeks ago rehomed to Dereham stunned me because she just melded into the household and seems to have settled really well from the info from Ann. As for Sally ... well, bless that dog's soul. She travelled well and when she got to Lorraine and into the living room it was like she'd just come home. She thoroughly enjoyed her sliced ham and a welcoming celebration piece of cake. She thought Lorraine's newly installed French Doors were just the dogs wotsits and has exercised her legs by racing from the living room thru the hall into the spare room and out the doors round the garden and back again. I've been amazed at the courage and adaptability of these dogs and think they're bloody stunning!

Guess what? I am crying tears of joy and happiness.
Having looked after the sponsorship scheme for sometime now I honestly thought that Sally would be sponsor girl forever. It is quite magical that Lorraine came along and Sally and she fell in love.
I wish you nothing but joy and happiness as you embark on your life as a family of three.
Bless you all xxxx

Well we've had a topsy turvy few days but I think we're all on the right track now (thanks to Ann and Paul for their un-ending support!). Sally has a favourite corner of the living room where she loves to curl up out of the way and we almost forget she's there! She loves her walks and across the road from us is some common land with lots of RABBITS so she enjoys that every morning! This morning she saw one of the local cats on our front lawn and WOW hasn't she got alot of power for a small petitie 9 year old!! ;D I have most of this week off work so I am gradually leaving her for longer each day in preparation for when I go to work and she has to cope on her own. Yesterday she was very naughty! I had shut her in the hallway as normal with the crate door open should she wish to use it. When I returned, 3 of the doors leading off the hallway had been opened - tell tale scratch marks showing where she had been jumping up and had found out that she could push the handles and get the doors to open! She them followed me into the bedroom where I realised she had been on our bed and immediately jumped onto the bed again. I told her off and sent her to the crate, but secretly my husband and I are laughing and delighted to see her showing some 'character' ! ;D No doubt I will have more tales to tell...

What a star Sally has been at the Kamas Cave Dog Show today, but then I am a little biased! ;D She panted and puffed and shook but got through it and as the day progressed she seemed to cope better. She took over Kate's vehicle for a lay down - thanks Kate and apologies to Fudge and Wish who she either pushed out of the way or stood on! She won 3 rosettes - second in Greyhound Veteran, third in Kamas Cave Rescue and second in Prettiest Bitch. What a star for a 9 year old who nobody wanted... Sally laid down in the car all the way home, so I think she was shattered, but she has since had her dinner and is now on her duvet sleeping it off!

Sally has been with us for 3 weeks now. The change in her is immense - she is really coming out of her shell and is proving to be very cheeky! ;D Going to the Kamas Cave Dog Show seemed to trigger something in her and since then she has been far more playful, anticipates walkies time and dinner time getting quite animated, so she is really settling into the routine. After the first week or so she has become very much more'dog-like' - more into smells etc, roaching and loving seeing the rabbits and cats even more than ever! I am sure Ann swopped the Sally I knew for a younger version! Her first choice of sitting area in the garden was the redundant vegetable patch of mud! Here she is showing off her Dog Show rosettes.
