What a fab lifestory this is turning out to be .... Jamesie is such a beautiful big lad and enjoying his life so much. 39kg is nothing for such a big boned boy and, indeed, my view is that they deserve some indulgence following their working life. i agree we must be a little careful not to go too mad but a Kong filled with fave food will amuse for ages and with plenty of fresh air, a couple of walks, cuddles and no worry or stress makes for a very happy lad! Well done Rach .... you've achieved so much with him and he's benefitting from living in your lovely Derbyshire countryside. X

Heres a pic of Jamsie in his new tartan hat!!. We went to penistone ag show yesterday and the weather was scorching . he got 2nd in the open pedigree class and he doesnt do blue so we got him a red hat to cheer him up!. It stops the sun from hurting his eyes as well . He wore it quite happily and his new reflective coat he got from the yorkshire RGT stand, he loved meeting their greys and sat down with them for a rest. He was good with all the little dogs and laid down with some little chihauhas who had a good bark at him and he looked at them with a 'Whaaaat?' face!. He never wears his muzzie now. He had a lovely day and was shattered last night. Rachxx Attachments:

What fantastic photos! Sally NEARLY roached in the car yesterday (when we were parked up, not whilst it was moving!) but that is the closest to roaching that she's ever done when we've been out and about.

What stunning photos of your gorgeous babies. The views on their walk are spectacular.
Great to read that Jamesie no longer requires his muzzle and can show off his handsome face.

Jamsie has been up all night with a poorly runny tum so off to the vets this morning. Evie has been poorly too with one last week and seems ot have passed it too james so Im taking along a couple of samples to have tested in case its campylobactor or summat. And also when folk ask me the question 'so whats the difference between whippets and greyhounds then?'......the answer next time shall be 'the size of the poos!!!!!-esp when they are poorly. poor james he is feeling very sorry for himself and was really worried when he messed the floor but we have tiled floors so easily mopped up and bleached. He is getting lots of tummy rubs although I darent get too close as it makes it rumble!!!

Ouch Rachel, that is a heap of cash. Still, worth the outlay to investigate. Poor baby having a sore tummy.
Hugs and kisses xxxx

thank you ladies, he is much better this morning, the antibiotics have kicked in really well. He had no tea last night and a little bit of beef this morning . No poos yet this morning so I shall wrap him up warm and take him for a little walk in while. His tum has stopped gurgling and he is a bit sleepy. I shall give him a little wash later so he feels a bit fresher too.I have washed all the dog beds and throws at 60 to kill any germs that may be lurking too. He has been such a poppet poor lad.

Thank you . Yes he is nearly back to normal. There is an odour of Jeyes fluid everywhere tho!... I have scrubbed the yard and make us all spray our soles and the dogs feet with antibacterial spray when we come in from a walk. Im being over the top because i ve done that thing of reading the internet.....check out Guardia lambia - the antibiotics the vet has given us is for that so i had a trawl around, I know I know....we shouldnt until I get the results from the samples. but he did sneak a quick drink of a forest stream before I could stop him, oh and then there was the dog bowl outside the shop he slurped oh and then.....lol!....wheres the cotton wool so i can wrap him up?.Rx

Glad to hear Jamesie is making a good recovery. I agree with you ... the interweb is a double edged sword. Great to find out stuff but then sends me into a decline of worry and mild panic at 'what might be'! Keep us posted, Rach.

Take care.

WE have finally done it!!!! We let Jamsie off the lead for a run on his walk this morning and he was a good boy. As soon as he realised he was off the lead he put his head down and ran full pelt up the field then zig zagged back down back to us with Evie running alonside him. He was puffed tho!...he then trotted about after me around the field with Evie -whilst Tony stood guarding the gate. It was quite nerve racking I have to admit .I would have taken pictures but I was shaking that much from the adrenalin they wouldnt have come out . I shall be taking his favourite peanut butter treats next time we let him off.
